Rangers' Urgency Problem Comes Due After Semien Homer

Hi and welcome to another edition of Right

on Rangers Live coming at you.

Top of the ninth inning, Rangers trailing this

one 3-2.

One of, if not the biggest game of

the season.

More of the same offense not able to

get it going tonight.

You know who was able to get it

going tonight though?

Marcus freaking Semien.

Semien comes up in the top of the

eighth inning and potentially maybe ends the Rangers

season.

Look, I said it on the, uh, excuse

me.

I said it on X right before I

came here, posted it on socials.

Marcus Semien hitting that home run.

Poetic man.

I can't even be mad at him.

Poetic.

Fair play to him.

He got ran out of town like he

was the real problem.

I think if you have watched all 157,

I think we all understand Marcus was far

from the real problem.

If you don't, I can't help you.

Jordan Montgomery gonna get strikeout number one of

Ewing here.

Can't even be upset at Semien.

That's got to feel incredible for him.

All the off-season drama, good teammate, good

leader, bad leader.

Let me go ahead and hit a bomb

to end your season.

Potentially.

Look, a lot of different things can transpire

over the next several ballgames.

We know this.

Baseball is weird.

Baseball's crazy.

Not going to count them out yet, but

it's not looking good.

You losing potentially two out of three to

the worst team in baseball.

You getting shut out.

I know they have a couple of runs.

You're basically getting shut down by, again, one

of the worst teams in the game.

I know Nolan McLean is no scrub.

Don't get me wrong, but just embarrassing.

Wyatt Langford lead off man since Saturday or

since Sunday, excuse me, Rangers haven't won a

game since.

It's not all Wyatt's fault, but man, what

an odd move.

You feel like that was just the biggest

knee jerk reaction move ever by skip.

And by the way, I'm fully setting this

up for a reverse jinx to come in

clutch.

I know Wyatt, I think retired himself last

inning on three on how many strikes?

Okay.

On five pitches, strike three.

We're not going to probably see Wyatt with

an opportunity to win the game.

Maybe, but it is interesting.

Skip kind of knee jerks to put Wyatt

into the leadoff spot.

And the offense has been basically terrible ever

since.

Can't lie.

Can't lie.

Really too bad that at this point you

have really the season riding on a few

at bats here in the ninth inning, depending

on what the Astros do today.

I mean, look, I guess if the Astros

drop, you might feel a little bit better

about what has happened tonight.

Maybe, maybe a little better.

This offense, man, just has been something else.

Sad how much they have just collapsed here.

You have another night where Corey Seager over

three, you have Wyatt Langford over four.

You've got your first three hitters over 11,

man.

You're not going to win games doing that.

I know that Josh Jung has been good

over the course of the season.

I tried to kind of put forth last

night, the mentality, like it doesn't really matter

what anybody's done over the four, over the

first 157 games.

All that really matters is how you play

right now.

I know some people are still trying to

play that game of, dude, come on.

They've been solid all year.

Dude, it doesn't matter.

All that matters is how you're playing right

now when the season is actually on the

line.

It is too bad.

Really is.

You have all of the guys the Rangers

need contributing right now and just nowhere to

be found in a game where you really

didn't have to do too much to beat

the Mets.

I know Nolan McLean is a tough customer,

man.

Look, he's not even sub three on the

ERA.

Let's not pretend like he's a Cy Young

candidate.

He's good.

He's not a Cy Young candidate, man.

I just know that that's where the excuses

are going to go to.

I can already see it now.

Swolger, the comment here, YouTube.

I mean, if they're playing like this at

home, imagine on the road, there's no hope

left.

It does feel daunting to think about how

this team is playing right now at home

and then going to a road series.

Danny Jansen, by the way, going to feel

the little swing and bunt here.

Two down.

Montgomery in the game once again.

Three, two Mets.

Rangers will have two, three, four up.

If anybody's able to reach Ezequiel Duran, we'll

get an at-bat, but you've got your

three best hitters up with the season potentially

on the line.

Yeah, same comment from RJL here.

Yeah, same crap did happen last year.

That's right.

You know, that being said, I think the

Rangers did win two out of three, but

you had that last game with Doley coming

back into the lineup that they lost, and

then I think the spiral really came to

fruition at that point.

They actually won two out of three in

that Mets series last year.

It was really just in the Sunday game

that they totally soiled the bed, and it

happened to coincide with Adolis García coming back

from injury and ending the little rascal's run.

JOTY, what's good?

I get Latz coming in the seventh and

pitching some of the eighth, but when Semien

came up, you have to go to Trevor

Williams.

You know, JOTY, I understand the matchup.

Appreciate the comment, by the way.

I don't think you can live with yourself

not pitching Latz in that eighth inning.

I just don't think anyone is going to

feel good about, hey, the season was riding

on Trevor Williams, you know, and he gave

up a home run.

I just feel like Skip, he made the

right decision there.

You've got your best bullet being fired, and

it just didn't work out.

If you go Trevor Williams or anybody else

in the eighth inning and somebody gives up

a run, you're never—Skip would never hear the

end of that.

He would get torched.

Why are you going away from Jacob Latz

there, man?

The season is potentially on the line and

you're putting it in the hands of Trevor

Williams.

I mean, look, if this was a game

in May or in June, maybe I would

agree a little bit more wholeheartedly, but I

understand it from maybe a matchup perspective, but

I don't get it from the perspective of,

this is crunch time, man.

You want to ride, you want to die

with the guys that have been doing it

for you all season long?

I don't think anybody is going to fault

Skip for leaving Latz in there in the

eighth inning.

Would have been curious to see what they

would have done in the ninth inning.

I don't know if they would have been

able to go to Latz one more.

Maybe they would have.

I think it kind of would have depended

what they do in the bottom of the

eighth, and clearly they didn't score any runs.

Yeah, I mean, I guess the question is

like, who would you sub them for, right?

You've got a lot of guys.

You've got Osuna.

He pretty much would only be subbing either

Langford, maybe Carter, if there was a lefty

potentially.

Osuna has been a guy that's matched up

lefty-lefty before for Evan Carter.

There's not a lot of great opportunities here.

I mean, Diaz could come in for Jansen.

Jansen did hit the ball hard in his

last at-bat.

I just don't know that the subs, ka

-chow, are going to make that big of

a difference.

Cody, what's good, man?

Yeah, you and I were talking about this.

Chase Silseth's reaction when Skip came out of

the dugout to replace him with Latz was

exactly how he felt all season.

I think Joe T., comment here from X,

I think Junas is available, but I think

they were going to try and maybe save

him potentially for the ninth, depending on the

circumstances, like depending on the situation.

If we lose today, TLC says I'm calling

the sweep.

I mean, look, I'm not feeling good about

tomorrow.

If you drop this one, I'm definitely not

feeling good about tomorrow's ballgame.

I want to see what the Astros do.

I think a lot of us are melting

down a little bit early.

Let's see what the Astros do.

Astros win tonight.

Man, that doesn't feel good.

Not season over completely, but very close.

Very, very close.

It's tough, man.

I don't like having to go this direction.

I don't like having to talk this through.

You'd love to be just chatting about a

nice, comfortable win tonight.

You really would.

But unfortunately, Rangers not answering the bell.

Definitely not answering the bell offensively.

We'll say that for sure.

Thanks for all you guys hanging out.

We are going to finish out this ballgame,

painful as it may be to do so.

We are going to finish out this game.

Instagram, what's good?

JJ says this team doesn't deserve to go

to the postseason.

Don't take advantage of opportunities.

I mean, look, playing the defense that they've

been playing, I did say something similar.

I think it was after the Cody Bradford,

Danny Jansen miscommunication.

You're like, what are we doing here, man?

What are we doing with this defense?

Jake Burger had an error.

Patriot Post, man, what's good?

Comment from Instagram here.

Skip is full of bad moves.

Never seen a skipper run out so many

different lineups.

There have been a lot of lineups.

There's no disagreement from me there.

A lot of different lineups.

Teagues is out there talking to Williams right

now.

Base is loaded.

Here you go.

Here's the game right here.

Here is the game.

Jordan Montgomery gave up a hit and a

walk.

Williams has walked the first batter that he

has faced.

Baty up to bat right now.

Baty on the night.

He has just come into the game.

No ABs.

A little cold, a little chilly off the

bench.

Hopefully that can work to the Rangers' advantage

here.

This could get ugly quickly.

You are one out away from getting to

the bottom half.

Here's the first pitch, and it's going to

be a strike right down the middle, man.

Baty must have been taken there.

Maybe taken all the way.

So 0-1.

Williams been real good for the Rangers over

the last month or so that the team

has had him.

Had that four-inning shutout earlier, four shutout

innings.

Definitely impressed, and he has been a lifeline

for us with all the pitching injuries that

we've had.

He is going to really have to bear

down here.

He is in a 2-1 hole at

the moment after a strike one call right

down the pipe.

Two balls, and Baty in a favorable hitter's

count.

Yeah, Gman, Seager, and Langford, comment here from

YouTube.

Seager and Langford 0 for 14 with 10

Ks this series.

It's ugly.

Very, very ugly.

Speaking of, you think, Dave, the Rangers are

in trouble.

Yeah, speechless.

I mean, I'll find the words.

You know I will, but speechless right now.

It's definitely a no-guts game.

I have to say pretty clearly there's not

a lot of guts in this game, man.

Not having anybody that's clutching up.

You have, obviously, Latsy in the game, and

he's been great all season long, but let's

be honest, he's been a little bit overworked,

and he hasn't been as sharp.

Gave up the home run, the three-run

bomb, right, against Boston.

Could have swept that series.

Gives up the big bomb to Marcus Semien.

Kind of changes the whole dynamic of the

game.

Not able to get ahead.

Not able to get a lead going into

the top of the eighth, top of the

ninth.

Look, I got to see what Houston does

tonight, but if Houston wins tonight, I don't

feel very good at all about the chances.

I must say that.

Houston loses tonight.

You still got a shot.

You do.

There's four games left.

You still have a shot.

It's very, very possible that you can beat

Houston by one game if they lose tonight.

If they win tonight, it's not gonna work.

It's not gonna work.

I don't see it happening.

I really don't, y'all.

Sick to my stomach right now.

I know some of y'all are too.

Processing it live.

Man, this just sucks.

Isn't it just, though, picture perfect?

Just the season in a nutshell, right?

The season in a nutshell.

Bear with me here.

You've got, in one of the biggest moments

of your season, you've got Trevor Williams on

the mound.

Doesn't that just totally encapsulate the entire season

and what we've been dealing with?

In the biggest game of the season, you

have got Trevor Williams pitching for you.

It doesn't even make sense.

I can't even wrap my brain around this.

It does just tell you everything that you

need to know.

You have nobody else that you could go

to in that spot besides a guy that

you just picked up off the waiver wire

It's a little bit of everything.

It's CY.

Yeah, Ray Davis, the money.

You guys know how I feel about that.

CY has definitely not utilized his resources great.

You don't have to look any further than

the Gore trade, but you also look at

other deals that he did.

Look, the Joc Pederson trade.

I know Jock's had a decent year.

Jock was not worth $38 million, man.

There's just been a number of bad signings.

We don't have to get into the Ray

Davis versus CY debate tonight, but it's a

little bit of everything.

I don't blame just one person.

I don't blame just one party.

It's a combination of factors, but having Trevor

Williams with the season on the line on

the mound pretty much tells you everything you

need to know.

Yeah, I mean, G-man, the good point

comment from YouTube here, Chris Martin, $4 million

more money wasted down the drain.

Yeah, the Joc Pederson, the Tyler Mahle contract,

a lot of contracts just have not gone

well for Chris Young.

I know a lot of people blame Ray

Davis.

I mean, look, if that's your opinion, you're

entitled to it.

I don't know how you can't acknowledge there's

been a lot of money wasted along the

way by Chris Young in the front office.

A lot of money wasted.

Painful loss, man.

Painful, painful loss.

Maybe they'll get something going here, 7-2,

by the way, if you're just joining us.

Rangers are losing to the Mets and quickly

losing a grasp on this season.

Corey Seager, up to bat.

He'll probably single right here when we least

need it.

All right, that is probably exactly what's going

to happen.

And then we'll look back on this in

a day and say, you got a hit.

That's how it always goes, man.

And looks like at this point, we are

going to need to shift the conversation just

a little bit.

Man, it would have been fun for this

show to take a little bit of a

different turn, a different direction, but here we

are.

Appreciate all you guys hanging out.

Yeah, look, we got to get one from

the Mets, that's for sure.

Mark, comment from TikTok here.

We got to get at least one.

No doubt about that.

We've got to get at least one.

I am just in total shock that the

Rangers have managed to drop these first two

games.

There's just no excuse for it.

No excuse for it.

You've got Corey Seager and you've got Wyatt

Langford going over.

We've already talked about that.

Who are the guys that you're dependent on

the most?

Not able to get it done.

Not easy to do these, but I appreciate

getting to talk things through with y'all.

It's a therapy session, and I mean that

with my whole heart.

It is a therapy session.

Rangers going to need some help.

A lot of help from their division rivals,

the Houston Astros.

ELJ are 100%.

They are falling apart right now.

Corey Seager, by the way, grounded out, and

we are in a 1-1 count right

now with Josh Jung.

He fouls off another one up at the

top of the zone.

It's hard to put into words just the

pain from this game.

I'm not even going to lie to you

guys.

There's no excuse.

Jake, what's good, man?

There's just no excuse.

Jake says, comment from X here.

I don't know why.

There's maybe not a great reason.

Not probably an awesome reason, but you didn't

show up for this Mets series.

You think we call up Walcott for the

start of next season?

We got a comment from TikTok here.

No, I don't think they will.

I think they'll let this season just hit

the hay.

I think they'll let it go to bed.

I don't think they're going to at all

mess with calling up Walcott or anything like

that.

Josh Jung, by the way, singles.

Hey, there you go.

What did I tell you?

One of them was going to single.

Hey, they did great.

They had a hit tonight.

You know, this team sometimes, I know I'm

going off a little bit, but it just

feels like a lot of the hits at

times are just meaningless hits.

Josh Jung singles one out here, and we

got Nimmo up one for three on the

night, taking ball two right now.

Marco, I hope you're right.

I hope we are scoring six runs this

inning.

I don't know if I see it.

A comment from Facebook here.

Give a ton of credit to the Mets

manager.

Great call putting Baty in to pinch it

on like skip.

Very, very smart.

Burn.

Yeah, I can't say this year.

I know that there's some skip apologists out

there.

I don't know how you walk away from

this season with with a positive opinion of

skip.

I know there's going to be some people

trying to do some rewriting like, man, he

just got dealt a really bad hand, they

would have been so much worse without skip.

Is anybody really buying that?

Is anybody buying that?

I hope not.

I know there's going to be some people

arguing that I don't understand it.

Skip to me was not the worst thing

that happened to this team, but far from

the best.

And he didn't do enough this year.

I mean, for all that he was pumped

up to be, skip has not made a

big enough impact.

Yeah, they might make the playoffs.

I mean, it's possible, especially if Houston loses

tonight.

It's possible.

No doubt.

But I can't say skip has had some

crazy impact on this club, man.

Feels like Bochy could have done probably a

slightly better job than this.

But that's just me.

I'm a Bochy fan, though.

And a lot of you guys know that.

I definitely was not in favor of Bochy

leaving.

I know there were quite a few Rangers

fans that said it was time.

I think if hindsight were given to all

of us last year, I'm not sure we

would all be as gung-ho to hop

on the skip bandwagon.

Jotx comment here.

I don't know if Bochy would have made

a crazy difference.

I don't think this is like a 95

-win team with Bochy.

But it feels like you're at minimum getting

this, if not a little bit better.

I definitely don't think the team would have

been as bad defensively with Bochy.

Bochy, one of the things that his teams,

that his clubs are pretty well known for,

I don't think they would have been as

bad defensively.

Skip, to me, maybe year two will be

better.

But year one, I would say it is

a forgettable year.

It's a forgettable year for Skip.

I don't think you're using 2026 Texas Rangers

in your portfolio as you show off your

managerial career.

By the way, Ezequiel Duran grounds out here.

And that is going to be ball game.

Rangers lose 7-2.

They drop now to two games below 500.

And the Houston Astros, Seattle Mariners game comes

front and center.

By the way, that game, 0-0 in

the bottom of the second.

That game's on ESPN, by the way, if

you want to do some hate watching on

the Astros.

All we got to do at this point,

I think one thing we have to make

clear, they are now a game or a

half game out.

If the Astros lose, it will go back

to even.

Astros do have the tiebreaker.

You have a total of four games left

after this.

You have to be one game better than

the Astros over a four-game stretch.

It's not impossible, but it just doesn't feel

like it's going to happen.

Hey, Jimmy, appreciate the gift.

Thank you so much, man.

Houston going to win out, Cody says.

YouTube comment there, maybe, maybe.

JN, I'm with you.

Embarrassing, very embarrassing loss.

This is a game where you don't even

want to hear from anybody because at this

point, all of the coach speak and locker

room talk to me just makes it feel

worse.

I don't know about you guys.

It just drives the night further when I

hear dumb crap like flush it or, you

know, man, tip your cap.

That stuff just makes me even more upset.

As I experience the game itself, then afterwards,

you have to hear all the politically correct

BS.

No, thank you.

Hey, Raul, what's good, man?

What did, let's see, what do we got

for a comment?

Losing to bad teams just drives me crazy.

Comment from X there.

Hey, man, thanks so much for the comment.

Appreciate your support of the show, brother.

Yeah, this is what the Rangers have done

all season, though.

They have lost to bad teams.

It started with the Angels back in May

and probably even before that, but that was

the most memorable, getting swept by the Angels

back in May.

Yeah, and then you had everybody telling you,

hey, calm down.

It's early.

It's early, man.

Calm down.

Shoot.

I had somebody on Facebook today telling me

to relax.

Relax, man.

It's just like it's the middle of the

game, dude.

Relax.

Brother, how many games do you think we

have left?

We got four games left.

This isn't a game in June.

Nobody should be relaxing.

In fact, you know, I don't like to

ever question people's true fandom.

I don't like to get into the psychology

behind that.

But man, how are you relaxed if you're

a diehard at this moment?

I mean, really, unless you've just given up

on the season, which I know some Rangers

fans have, and you're just resigned to not

really watching, turning them off, and you made

the decision that they're not really worth your

time.

I mean, maybe that's a little different.

But man, if you're a diehard and you

want to see this team win, how could

you be relaxed right now?

There are four games left to play.

I don't even understand that mentality, but that's

the mentality that I have to deal with

so often interacting with people in all of

the different posts that I throw out there.

And all I can do is feel like

vindicated a little bit.

But I've always said this.

You know, it's so tough when you run

the account like me and like other Rangers

accounts do, because I know I'm not the

only Rangers account that tries to tell it

like it is.

But so many times you get pushback from

the accounts that just like to be positive

24-7, never want to hear anything negative.

And you know what, I'm not going to

take any victory laps.

I take no joy in being right about

this team and the downfalls and the negatives.

I take no joy in going back to

old tweets and dunking on somebody that was

trying to be positive.

Now, you know, look, privately, maybe a tiny

bit, but I'm never going to post something

like that.

And there have been some people that have

been relentless coming after me for how negative

I've been about the team this year, blah,

blah, blah, blah, blah.

I feel like I get a DM every

other day from somebody complaining about how I'm

too negative.

But then stuff like this happens and you're

just like, you know what, I'm glad I

just called it like it was, like it

is.

And you know what, if you're you say

you're wrong and the Rangers are maybe in

the playoff.

So that's outstanding.

That's what some people don't get is we

all want to see the team do well.

We're all passionate.

Nobody wants to be right when we call

out the shortcomings of the 2026 team.

Nobody wants to be right because we all

want to be watching October baseball.

We all want to be watching October baseball.

But I have to say, one of my

biggest mantras was games in April, games in

March, games in May.

They matter all the same when you're talking

about games in September, games in August.

And here we are.

You're trailing the Astros by a half game,

technically a game and a half.

And if you wouldn't have gotten swept by

the Angels in May, you wouldn't be in

the spot.

It's so simple.

And year after year, people just don't get

it.

Just don't get it.

This team needed more urgency all season long,

bringing it full circle.

That's the point here.

This team did not play with enough urgency

early on in the year.

We just constantly got bombarded with the coach

speak, locker room speak of, ah, flush it

onto the next one.

It's a long season, man.

We're going to break through.

Oh, we just, we just haven't seen the

best version of this team yet.

We haven't hit our ceiling.

How, how many phrases did I miss?

Like you throw in chat, throw out some

more.

What other just totally hollow expressions did we

get all season long?

And it's just totally flying back in the

face.

Now, this is a sad day to be

a Rangers fan.

And you can only hope that the Mariners

can figure out a way to make it

a little bit better top of the third

zero zero, by the way, I love the

fight.

Suki forgot about that one.

YouTube comment there.

Love the fight.

Love the fight in this team.

Oh, so much fight.

This goes on and on.

The list is long.

The euphemisms that we would get post game

players and especially skip.

And here we are.

You're in a bad spot where you don't

control your own destiny.

You did just two days ago.

You don't anymore.

Rangers, two games below 500.

They lose to the Met seven, two.

They were never going to make it easy.

I said that last night.

They were never going to make this easy

on us diehards.

You knew that you knew this team was

never going to do the right thing and

go on a five game winning streak to

finish out 2026.

You knew that everybody knew that in their

heart of hearts.

If you've watched this game for 157, now

158, you've watched 158 games of this 2026

Rangers team.

Like I have, you knew this was never

going to be easy.

You know, what's crazy is they might still

make it in.

They might.

I know that some people don't want to

be strung along anymore.

It's over.

Well, you know, it's not, but it's not

looking great.

Let's just call that 100% just right

out on the carpet.

It's not looking great.

Could it still happen?

Of course it could still happen.

No doubt, but it's not looking good.

Daniel, I wouldn't say no hope.

I'm from tick-tock here.

Rangers have no hope, no true management.

Their best hitters are not performing.

I agree with a lot.

I wouldn't say they have no hope, but

I do agree.

The best hitters are not coming through when

you don't have your best hitters coming through

when you really need it most.

It's just not going to go.

Well, not going to go well for you

at all.

And tonight, you know, you have again, Seager

Langford over four with four Ks, you know,

Corey Seager been fading a little bit over

the last few games.

And it's unfortunate.

You can't really do the last 15 games,

last 30 games.

At this point, you have to do the,

what have you done?

Like in the last two games, what have

you done in the last two games?

I do not care what you did last

month or 30 games ago.

I don't care.

What have you done in the last two

games?

That's all that matters right now.

It's all that matters.

Isn't it crazy?

Like I'm thinking about this right now.

Isn't it wild?

The Rangers basically went, I'm not going to

get the innings right.

Cause I can't remember.

It's wild.

We went from like, wasn't it the fourth

or the fifth inning yesterday to the fifth

inning today without a hit.

I want to say yesterday, halfway through the

game, we had no more hits through the

rest of the game.

And then today we didn't have a hit

until the fifth inning.

So basically a no hitter was thrown by,

by the Mets over a combination of two

games, nine innings of no hit.

I'm pretty sure I'll go back and I'll

do the math, but I'm almost certain the

Rangers got no hit over nine straight innings

between yesterday and today.

Uh, Hey, my guy, thank you so much.

Uh, blaster appreciate you, man.

Thank you for the $5 gift, man.

That means so much not needed, but much

appreciated season ended comment says when skip decided

to put Wyatt in the lead off spot,

they are Oh four since then.

Yes, they are.

I posted that earlier today and I appreciate

you bringing it back up again.

My guy again, thank you for your generosity.

It means a lot.

And look, uh, there's a lot of ways

to support the show.

Uh, gifts are, are never needed, but they

are much appreciated.

Just being here, hanging out, commenting means a

lot.

I don't take for granted any way that

people show support to the channel, but thank

you again, my guy.

Appreciate it.

Yeah.

Wyatt Langford getting moved to the lead off

spot.

We we've talked about that a little bit.

It's just, uh, at this point with the

benefit of hindsight, it's a knee jerk reaction

by skip.

Why it had the really good series in

Toronto.

He was walking a lot.

He was getting on base, not in Toronto,

but against Toronto and skip immediately puts him

in the lead off spot on Sunday.

They lost that game.

They lost Tuesday's game.

They lost tonight's game.

They've lost every game since skip has put

Wyatt in the lead off spot.

It didn't make a lot of sense to

me at the time.

Uh, why it has not been good over

the last month.

Uh, he had a nice little heater, but

I don't think that that means move guys

in the lineup.

I know I just said, Hey, what have

you done for me lately?

But I don't think that applies to how

you make your lineup card.

I don't think it does.

I know maybe some people say, Hey, whatever

lineup works.

Right.

But I don't think this is the time

to experiment.

This to me is definitely not the time

to experiment.

They were not going on that run of

games with Wyatt Langford leading off.

They weren't, they were going on that run

with other guys leading off.

That to me is, is really the head

scratcher here, right?

I don't understand why they decided, Hey, we,

we just won.

What was it like seven of eight games

or, you know, it was something like that.

Let's go ahead and change it up.

Let's go ahead and mix it up, man.

Let's have Wyatt lead off.

Even though we are crushing it in this

Toronto series.

And you know, we've just won the Boston

series.

Let's mix it up though.

Let's have Wyatt Langford lead off, baby.

Yeah.

Went great.

Frankie agreed.

If it ain't bro, do not fix it.

And Jay and right.

Yeah.

Duran was leading off in a lot of

those games.

And I know Duran has been a little

bit chilly of late.

He has not been crushing the baseball, but

you were winning a lot of those games

with Ezequiel Duran leading off.

I really don't know if skip has been

asked about this, but I think it is

a very legitimate question.

Why would you suddenly go to Wyatt Langford

in the leadoff spot, man?

Wyatt Langford.

Oh, for four tonight, two strikeouts yesterday.

He was over three, three strikeouts.

He did walk twice against Toronto in the

leadoff spot on Sunday.

He did have a hit as well.

So you could make an argument there.

I guess like, Hey, it worked.

I'm just not a fan of it.

They have not won any games with Wyatt

leading off and look, Corey Seager, obviously an

issue.

It's not all Wyatt's fault.

It really is.

It it's not.

I know some people are going to latch

onto this dude.

Why are you blaming Wyatt?

Come on now.

It's not all Wyatt's fault.

We talked about Corey Seager.

He, he did not come through today.

Uh, we've talked about some of the other

guys, you know, Zeke obviously fading a little

bit.

He was over yesterday was the real game

where you're just like, nobody showed up where

you had two guys getting hits.

Just sad, really sad here.

Uh, skip, uh, Austin says, nah, this is

skipping our high school middle relief.

The middle relief, not good.

I mean, I don't think I could put

it any better.

You had the season on the line and

you were throwing Trevor Williams.

Is that all skips fault?

No, it's not all skips fault.

Is it a little bit skips fault?

Yeah.

Cause he's managing the bullpen and he's managing

the game.

You definitely have to deal with the cards

that you're dealt.

And I mean, skip to me, didn't have

a full deck per se when he started

this season.

You don't feel like the roster was really

complete coming into spring training.

Like, yeah, you had bodies, you had warm

bodies, but you didn't necessarily fill the needs

that you really had going into the off

season.

Last year, you needed more guys in relief

roles, guys that could pitch and leverage.

You didn't really go out and get a

lot of anything bullpen related except for, you

know, some of the lesser knowns that actually

pitched pretty well this year, but you needed

to go out and you needed to sign

a guy that has been there, done that

and can pitch in the eighth or ninth

inning and take a little bit of pressure

off.

This to me is one component of it,

but having Trevor Williams in the game season

on the line.

Wow.

Wow.

Wow.

Wow.

Just kind of tells you exactly where we're

at at this point.

By the way, Astros are now up one

to nothing and they are threatening your Don

Alvarez doubles here runners on second and third.

And there is looks like one out.

So we got an opportunity for more runs

to be scored here.

I will keep you guys posted.

Jalen, it's not looking good.

That is for sure.

Appreciate the comment, man.

Feed the Gators with you.

Sad.

It is just a sad night.

Depressing night to be a Rangers fan.

If the Rangers, Ray Ray says, comment from

TikTok here.

If the Rangers do make it to the

postseason, they won't get very far, honestly.

Yeah.

I mean, I don't think a lot of

people are figuring they're built for a deep

run at this point.

Comment from Insta.

What's good, man?

Thanks for hanging out.

Can't remember a time when I saw a

team run out of pitching with a week

to go quite like this.

It is wild how they have run out

of pitching with injuries.

It's it's crazy.

It really is.

They have definitely run into some unfortunate luck

here.

I think that can absolutely be said.

But that also goes back to the beginning

of the season and the planning.

Right.

You didn't have enough enough depth.

You didn't have enough arms.

By the way, sacrifice fly here.

The Mariners are now down two to nothing.

Astros taking a lead, trying to take a

commanding lead in the A.L. West.

They would go a full two games because

of tiebreaker, a full two games up.

If they are able to win tonight, we

will be locked on that game for sure.

We'll keep you posted on how that game

is going.

Appreciate all the comments.

We have got a lot to go through

here tonight.

We've already gone through quite a bit.

There was better contact tonight from the offense.

No doubt.

Tuesday, yesterday, the Rangers struck out 15 times

tonight through the first seven innings.

I want to say they'd only struck out

like three.

Much better with the contact tonight.

That's a real improvement.

But still, Texas only had three hits.

No home runs.

Two runs scored.

Question is, you know, whether there's better contact

actually matter if the scoreboard barely changes.

Not really.

It feels maybe a little bit better.

15 strikeouts felt horrible yesterday.

You didn't have quite that embarrassing of a

performance, but it still wasn't good.

Now, the top three.

We've already talked about Langford.

We've talked about Seager.

Josh Jung added on a little garbage time

hit there at the end.

They were a combined, I believe, one for

10 tonight.

Maybe worse than that.

Actually, a one for 12.

My bad.

Never was a map guy.

One for 12, your top three.

Texas got runs from Burger and Carter.

Carter had a nice, ball-and-play moment.

But honestly, you're hoping for so much more

from the little savior there.

I mean, he grounds out to second base.

His speed allows him to beat out the

throw from second.

But he just wanted to see so much

more in that moment.

Bases loaded.

One out.

You were just hoping Evan was going to

gap one, clear the bases, or run into

one.

Is that October or pre-October magic, I

should say?

It wasn't meant to be.

Look, you don't need, by the way, all

three of those guys, Langford, Seager, Young, to

carry the entire night.

But you need somebody at the top to

do something.

And the opposite of that happened tonight, minus

Josh Jung's garbage time hit in the bottom

of the ninth inning.

Astros, by the way, now up four to

nothing after a Yainer Díaz home run.

Not looking good.

Not looking good.

You know they just saw the Rangers game

go final and licking those chops, man.

You know they looked at the scoreboard, saw

the Rangers lost, and here we go.

I know that's how I would be if

I was in their shoes.

You're looking at that game going final, nodding

your head.

Yes, sir, here we go.

Just gives you a nice little jolt, and

here they are up four nothing.

Mariners laying over nicely, rolling over nicely for

the Astros here in this midweek series.

We keep going back and forth.

Last 10 years of Rangers baseball, yeah, they've

made the playoffs one time in the last

10 years.

That's another reason why, you know, when people

are always getting on me for being negative,

I'm like, man, we realize you've been in

the playoffs one time in 10 years, right?

Granted, the one year was very special, and

it's a year that none of us are

going to ever forget, but you've made the

playoffs one time in a decade.

It's just not a great track record of

success.

There's no other way to put it.

You have one playoff appearance in October in

the last decade.

What would I do in the offseason?

Comment from, question from TikTok here.

Awesome.

Thanks for all the comments, man.

I would do a couple of different things.

I would just have really everybody on the

trade block, except for maybe a couple of

guys, you know, Walcott, obviously, you know, Langford,

I think is polarizing right now just because

of how he has really sold here at

the end of the year to use a

young kid expression.

He's, he's old, man.

He has, he has absolutely faded at the

end of this 2026 run.

I don't necessarily want to say, Hey, just

trade everybody, get rid of everyone, fire sale.

But if we're being honest, there's really nobody

that you feel like is untouchable except for

maybe Walcott.

You know, you can maybe say some of

the minor leaguers as well.

I definitely feel like you're going to have

to make some tough decisions.

You've got these guys that you like, you've

got these guys that you feel good about

and they're good clubhouse guys, and they've got

some potential.

I've made this point so many times.

You have to get over that.

If you really want to be better than

what you are, you got to make tough

decisions.

Like, you know what?

This guy's solid, not, not terrible, not great,

not elite, but we could be better right

now.

The Rangers are a little bit stymied by

the ceilings of some of these players, man,

Jake Burger.

You know, he could be a 40 home

run guy.

He could maybe, but Jake Burger, is he

going to be a guy that you have

to lock down forever?

I don't think so.

Even Josh Jung, had a great year, can

only really play.

I mean, what at this point, maybe first

base, do you really want to bring JJ

back for another round of third base?

Not me.

Like to me, the Rangers have a lot

of tradable players.

I do think there's an argument, run it

back and reload.

But if you're not really going to actually

spend money and reload, then you need to

just get rid of everybody.

That's something that I've also said all season

long.

Don't do this mediocre thing where you don't

do anything one way or the other.

You just try and keep it status quo.

You don't buy, you don't sell.

You just try and convince yourself that doing

nothing is somehow going to be the best

case scenario.

I definitely would be doing some radical things

in the off season.

They've had three years of mediocrity to below

average.

They haven't had a year where it's been

like awful, straight up terrible.

I mean, look, 24 was not awesome.

They were eliminated very early on in 2024,

2025.

You had some hope at the end, 2026.

Obviously you have a lot of hope at

the end.

They were just in first place a couple

of days ago, like 48 hours ago, man.

They were in first place.

So I would be getting a little bit

radical.

I don't want to do this round four,

24, 25, 26 round four of this in

2027.

I don't want to do that.

I don't want to run this back.

I really don't.

I'm ready for some fresh faces.

I think I said that about a week

ago.

I think that would go over well with

a lot of Rangers fans.

I don't think you have to get rid

of everybody, but I think there would be

a lot of people that would appreciate some

fresh faces in the building, not running it

back with the same dudes season after season.

Carter could potentially be a trade piece.

Sure.

I don't know what his value really is.

I don't feel like it's probably very high.

I don't.

I mean, Caden comment from YouTube beer, a

bag of chips.

Yeah.

I mean, that's, that's ruthless, but I don't

think the Rangers are going to get a

lot for Evan Carter.

I don't think they are.

Daniel says it's crazy because they still have

a shot.

Yes, but not looking very good with the

score in Houston right now.

So you would have to have for this

to work out.

If the score stands, basically what you're talking

about is needing the Astros to lose probably

at least three games of their last four.

And that's probably not going to happen.

Losing three of the Astros next four.

I don't see that happening.

And then the Rangers would have to win.

They would have to win out or they

would have to win probably three of their

next four games.

It's not looking good.

Yeah.

Great comment.

TikTok comment here.

Appreciate you.

Thank you so much.

Not only do the Astros have to lose,

but we would have to win novel concept.

Indeed.

We would actually have to win a game.

If the Astros lose games in order to

get ahead, if we lose tomorrow, Caden says

season is over.

It feels that way.

It feels that way.

Well, especially if the Astros, if the Astros

win tomorrow and we lose, I think you

do at that point pretty much say, yeah,

see season is, is done.

Right at this point, there are two games

back.

You lose tomorrow.

You would be three games back.

So you could lose tomorrow.

And then at that point, if the Astros

won tomorrow, it would be like a three

and three Astros would have to get swept

and we would have to sweep.

So I don't think it would eliminate us,

but it would basically be a situation where

we would have to sweep and the Astros

would have to lose out.

It's just not going to happen.

Joshua.

Never man.

Never.

I do not have my A's gear ready.

I'll never have the A's gear ready.

I will enjoy the Rangers being in my

backyard, by the way, all y'all hanging

out that maybe are newcomers.

I live out in Vegas after spending a

lot of time in Texas, grew up in

Arlington, went to Arlington high, spent a lot

of good years there, lived out here in

my adult life for about 15 years, family

out here, probably not coming back to Texas

anytime soon to live.

Maybe if this like blew up like crazy,

maybe, but yeah, the A's coming to Vegas

is definitely an exciting thing for me.

I'm just happy I'll get to watch Rangers

baseball in my home city.

I'll root for the A's this weekend to

be clear.

I'll root for the A's this weekend.

Yes, I am a Cowboys fan, Cowboys fan,

Longhorns fan, a lot of pain, a lot

of, you know, sorrow as a DFW fan

at times.

I feel like DFW sports are kind of

going through it right now.

Honestly, you've got the Cowboys always doing their

thing.

You had the Luca trade a couple of

years ago.

You've got the Rangers forgetting how to play

good baseball.

Rough, man.

It's rough, man.

I was really hoping we were going to

get a playoff run next week.

I mean, you guys know, and I try

to tell people this too, whenever somebody accuses

me of like wanting to see the team

lose, dude, you just want to see them

lose, bro.

What like this is a bit, this is

business for me, man.

Like right on Rangers, like man, it is,

it is a business for me.

Like, I love this team.

I'm a passionate band.

Don't get me wrong.

I don't want you to get it twisted.

Like, man, this is just straight up business,

but you know, this is my livelihood, man.

This is a part of how I make

a living.

So do you really think I want to

see this team out in the regular season?

Of course not.

I want to be hanging out, making more

content, trying to make a living, man.

Of course, I love hanging out with all

y'all, but let's just be real about

it.

It's, it's better for business when the Rangers

are in October.

In fact, you know, I, I really didn't

have at all, anywhere close to the level

of following that I do now, which isn't

still very much, but I barely had any

people along for the ride in 2023 when

they were actually in the playoffs.

That was still like baby phases of ride

on Rangers.

I, at this point, man, I mean, I,

I definitely have not yet experienced the Rangers

in the playoffs with the community that we

built up here.

Thanks to you guys.

Really, by the way, Mariners are now only

down four, two.

Maybe we have some hope here.

Maybe we have some hope.

What was a Gerald?

What's good, Gerald?

What was the question?

A lot of you guys are bringing up

the Langford Seager question.

What was the question?

Yeah.

I, like I said, I'm sure he didn't

really give a whole lot, but that's really

not too shocking to me.

Like not shocking at all.

Really.

Isn't both of them were one for 24,

the past three games.

Yeah.

Is what it is, is what it is

at this point.

All right.

Hey, tomorrow, let's talk a little bit about

it.

We're going to continue to keep our eye

on the game that's going on right now

out in Seattle, but Rangers news you have,

first of all, all of the IL moves

that I think most of us are familiar

with really no new Rangers transactions today.

You had a lot going on earlier this

week, but things have kind of settled tomorrow's

game is at one 35, Texas time Mets

are currently listing Zac Thornton lefty.

He is three 40 ERA 59 strikeouts.

Texas starter is to be determined at this

point, a Cal Raleigh, by the way, strikes

out with runners on first and third, unfortunately.

And so the Mariners now two outs first

and third tomorrow is, is the final home

game of the season.

Another lefty scheduled for New York.

After that, the Rangers hop on the plane

to Minneapolis for the final three.

Can you look, they've, they've still got a

small, very small chance here.

They're going to need some help from the

Astros, but they've got a very small chance

right now.

They're getting some help from the Mariners.

Looks like the Mariners are going to be

driving in more runs here.

I've got in play runs on the MLB

game day app in play runs, baby.

Always a good feeling to see that on

the screen.

Is four to three Julio Rodriguez doubles to

left field.

Dominic Canzone to third runners on second

and third here, two outs.

So we've got the Mariners rallying.

It's a four, three ball game.

Houston, Houston getting a little nervous.

Maybe we'll see how that one ends.

Hey, look, as we land this thing tonight,

you know, it really answered the question from

the video that I put out today, uh,

which is, you know, can these guys just

simply put them all in play?

Beautiful things can happen.

As I like to say, when you simply

put the ball in play, they did put

the ball in play tonight.

They didn't repeat the 15 strikeout disaster, but

they're still just chilling with the bats.

Just two runs tonight.

Not that many hits.

It's a production problem at this point.

And they've struggled with it all season long.

They really have, you know, at least we

struck out less really isn't a great excuse

at this point, by the way, Astros are

wheeling and dealing with the pitching.

They are doing a substitution right now.

So this game could get interesting.

We are going to keep our eye on

it, but man, I am going to start

signing off for the night.

I will not be live immediately after the

game tomorrow, just because of work and things

of that nature.

But I will definitely be live probably around,

maybe like 630 to 7 p.m. Texas

time, 630 to 7 p.m. I would

say expect right around there.

That's when I'll kind of be home, get

to chill for a second, get my thoughts

together for the game.

So if you are looking for the live

right after the game is over tomorrow, you

probably won't find it, but I will show

up probably around, like I said, 630 p

.m. 7 p.m. Texas time, central time.

So just to give you a little update

on that.

Kachow says, what's the most amount of views

I've had in a live?

I saw 40 today.

Hey, good number.

I don't know, because I feel like I've

had some lives for football season that have

been pretty big.

Like I remember I did the Texas Ohio

State game.

It was from a couple of years ago.

That was like the Quinn Ewers final year

before he went to the NFL.

I feel like that one got a lot

of views, but Rangers, it just kind of

depends.

I can never really tell how many people

at one time are viewing.

It gives me like a rough idea, but

I can never really tell completely.

Look, I'm just thrilled if I have like

10 people hanging out, let alone 40.

I don't know.

I think I told you guys when I

started this, I just wanted a few people

to chat Rangers ball with, and it has

gotten a lot bigger than a few people,

thanks to all the ways you guys support

the show.

So hey, look, tomorrow more content coming your

way.

I will do my usual posting throughout the

day.

Thank you so much for all the ways

that you support the show, liking those, commenting,

sharing it with someone who you know is

a diehard that maybe hasn't heard a ride

on Rangers yet.

Definitely not a great night to be a

Rangers fan, but maybe it's going to get

a little better with Seattle coming back here.

They are not able to tie the game,

but they get three runs back in the

bottom of the third, and it is somewhat

of a brand new ball game here.

Four to three going to the top of

the fourth.

Houston, Seattle going to have our eye on

that one.

We will see what happens.

That is going to be a big result

for the Rangers hopes this season.

Big result.

Appreciate it.

Dennis, thanks for the compliment.

I promise, man.

No, no filtering, no filtering going on, brother.

I appreciate that though.

Look, at the end of the day, we

love this team.

We hate the result tonight, but we love

this team and we love the community of

Rangers fans.

And I thank you for showing up even

when it's not an easy thing to do,

man.

Look, sometimes I want to just go ahead

and throw in the towel and not hop

on a lie, but I always feel better

after I do.

And you guys are a big part of

that.

So thank you, man.

Hopefully we still got some magic left.

I can't say I've got a crazy amount

of hope, but I've got at least a

little bit.

That's all you need.

That's all you need.

As the good book says, faith, the size

of a mustard seed, like it doesn't have

to be much, but it'll get you a

long ways.

I have a little bit of hope left.

It is waning quickly based on the baseball

that I'm seeing, but there's a little bit

left.

I hope you have it too.

And I hope that we can have some

better results here.

The rest of the season.

I always tell myself, man, you're going to

miss this when it's gone.

Even, even if you're so pissed off and

frustrated with this team, you are going to

miss baseball when it's gone, man.

So just enjoy every minute.

I'm not giving up yet.

I'm down, but I'm not out just like

the Rangers.

Just like a lot of you will be

back tomorrow.

We'll recoup and hopefully the Rangers can salvage

a game, get on a plane to Minnesota

and do some work.

But man, would it be helpful if the

Mariners could do us a solid tonight at

home in front of the home crowd.

Would love to see a little comeback by

Seattle.

Be huge.

All right, y'all I'm signing off.

Hope you all have a great rest of

your Wednesday night, long day today, Wednesday night,

and we'll be back tomorrow, 6 30 to

7 PM ish Texas time.

Hope you can come hang out.

And as I always say to end every

show, God bless and go Rangers.
